Thank you so much for a lovely review! I, too, found this book through Sandy’s channel and I ordered it immediately. Emily’s book is whimsical and filled with JOY. I read it from cover to cover and found it to be such an easy read. 10 out of 10 would purchase again!

I have a similar palette, just a touch larger (it's almost exactly A6 size), made by fclub. It's one of my all-time favourite palettes, such a versatile format! And I much prefer a thinner well or pan with more surface area vs the depth of a half pan. The flat profile of palettes like this also means they'll slip into a bag next to a sketchbook without adding much bulk at all. I'm definitely interested to see how the gouache holds up in these tiny pans, it'd be great if that works well! Re: buying Art Toolkit in Europe: Artemiranda sells them! They're very expensive though (that's why I'm sticking with my cheap fclub one lol)...

I too, am still on the hunt for the perfect sketchbook. I use the Royal Talens' Art Creations ones but I don't like the cream paper. And I do like the Dyan Reavely and Dina Wakley journals, but I think Ranger has discontinued both of them. :(. I do mostly mixed media and I prefer a square format and white, hot press paper for that. I'm liking the Leuchtturm 1917 for now. My watercolor adventures are mostly urban and landscape sketching and I feel like I've used every brand you can think of for that and haven't fallen in love yet. I like a super white, cold press paper for those sketchbooks. Picky, picky, I know!

Love Stillman and Birn--Alpah or Beta series, soft cover. Like the size. For pure watercolor botanical painting I like Bee Creative 100% cotton watercolor journals.

I finally got this particular set, and I absolutely love it and agree with pretty much everything you’ve said here. I think it is almost perfect for a stand alone landscape set (of course that is dependent on the particular landscapes in question but it would work in a lot of places.) I agree with your assessment of missing colors and would probably supplement with pans from my set of 48, or maybe another brand or Neocolor II. It is great because nature is usually more muted than the colors in an assorted set, and this set is curated with built-in harmony and some very natural-looking colors. You could easily use it for landscape sketches with virtually no mixing. I see in your pinned comment that you mention that they give you the creamy opaque consistency of gouache without the crumbling and drying you get with poured (dried) gouache, and that is so true. The only thing I would add is that it does have kind of a satin or even glossy sheen, especially if you have an area where the color is thicker/pooled. But, it appears to me that with the change of binder (apparently a new vegan binder in the new sets) it dries slightly less glossy than do my older (set of 48) paints. I’m planning to bring this on vacation with me this summer.

Irit! Thank you for posting the replay! I think I even had a reminder set, my husband had a long day so we ended up going out for dinner together on a rare date night. I’m sorry to have missed it. My most recent purchase would be a larger Canson mixed-media sketchbook. The paper is really unsuitable for watercolor… but I’ve learned something really quite important for watercolor artists. Half of watercolor painting is knowing your paper. Once you have a feel for what your paper’s limitations are…you can put them to different uses. I’ve done highly finished illustration concepts on this paper, in watercolor, as well as loose sketches in mixed media, and complete drawings. Finding a reliable, affordable, “workhorse” paper will make your life so much easier! I also picked up a few more Van Gogh oil pastels in their pale pinks. I have one vivid sky blue that was the gate-way to their line. The pastels aren’t uniformly soft-some colors seem drier than others, but maybe it’s an age issue rather than formula. Love your stuff Irit, please keep it coming 💖

My bf works delivery in a big van, he's scored some really fun stuff from the side of the road, a lot of store fixtures. I am so happy to be part of helping existing things find a new life. One is a tiered round display for makeup or something, , it's like 120 cm tall and like you find with the Raskog cart lower tiers, I had a hard time using the covered shelves. But, those pen cups you have on your cart, here they are selling for 99 cents and they fit perfectly not only on the top of my freestanding Skadis pegboard, they are exactly wonderful on my round tiered storage. :). Loved your tour, tfs!

I bought a clear T-square, for aligning things when layering. It is about 12 inch with ruler markings. Also great when I tape off borders when watercoloring.

Oh Irit, it has been such a long time since I last heard you on a video, but I recognised your lovely lilt immediately. :). I have been experiementing with my supplies a lot and am really particular about the pigment not feeling gummy or sticky to the touch afterwards. These tempura sticks sounds exactly what I was looking for! A colour rich medium that are enjoyable to work with and dry on paper lets me work up concepts for canvases and other substrates. :)

Thanks for the great video! I've been trying to organise my crafting/sewing space for ages now without breaking the bank. It never occurred to me to go to Ikea but even if I did, I would never have known where to start. These are brilliant ideas and will sort out my necessary clutter quick smart. U wasted so much of paint. It pains me to watch tht..but I bought cascade green after watching ur video.. i have always been using winsor and Newton goauche ..n some times m grahm.. I had added Daniel smith buff titanium goauche long ago .it's very good for making beautiful Greys.. Indian traditional gouache used for traditional miniature are really one of the best.. though they are not available commercially

I can actually see at least three (3) faces in this piece. One in the Navy (which is creepy), one in the pink (it's standing) and one in the green in the upper left.

North Carolina, North America, and I have a Strathmore watercolor block, which is fun. I managed to use watercolor paint on canvas with a dry paintbrush.

I had Pelikan when I was a child. I was so frustrated to not have the colors I wanted. Later, on my own, I decided had to purchase every brand painted or printed sample charts, cut them into individual strips and arrange the individual strips to the effect I wanted. I only painted postcards. I love the curated collections offered by so many of the brand names now, I have even seen offered even an by artisan small business like lettersparrow. I love what you do. I think it is you who has inspired the curated collections.
